Founder,
In May 2023, my parents called me with heartbreaking news: my grandfather on my father’s side had passed away. Our interactions had been sporadic, through occasional calls, shared videos, and quotes, but each moment was meaningful. The last time I saw him in person was in 2018, during his visit to the US. Even though he had passed away a year ago, the desire to hear his voice again lingered in my heart.
This longing sparked a curiosity in me: could his voice be imitated well enough to bring some comfort? I started exploring existing Text-to-Speech (TTS) solutions but found them lacking. They often produced unnatural, mechanical sounds that didn’t capture the warmth and personality of my grandfather’s voice. This dissatisfaction inspired me to create a program that could more seamlessly imitate a person’s voice. My goal was to develop a program that could read a book in my grandfather’s voice and tone, preserving his memory in a more tangible way.
